Uniswap's new memecoin launchpad went live on Robinhood Chain hours behind schedule. Pools.trade opened at 5 p.m. ET on August 5, nearly four and a half hours after the countdown expired. The platform's star asset, FRONG, was already trading at $0.0121 with a $12.1 million valuation and $1.1 million in liquidity by early evening.

The frog memecoin hit $60.96 million in cumulative volume since launch, with 172,694 buys from 12,206 wallets and 152,183 sells from 10,942 wallets. FRONG climbed 31.9% on the day. The platform counted 12,141 holders by that point.

The Teaser That Started It All

Uniswap posted a countdown on X at 12:31 p.m. ET on August 4 with a night-vision video of a frog at a pond's edge, a timer ticking down from 24 hours. The post racked up 1.1 million views. Founder Hayden Adams chimed in 91 minutes later with a casual "wait whats this about?" Two minutes before the deadline, Adams posted that they needed another hour. At 4:29 p.m. ET, still nothing shipped.

The Token Nobody Expected Early

Here's where things get odd. FRONG was minted on July 30, six days before Uniswap posted the teaser video. The holding page served the frog video from a file named frong.mp4, meaning the token existed in the contracts before the public even knew it existed. How long the file had been accessible on the domain before the official announcement remains unclear.

Uniswap Labs made clear in its announcement that it "has not independently reviewed or verified any token or project displayed" on Pools. The firm said the platform is "intended for memecoins: speculative, highly volatile assets that can go to zero." On X, the company emphasized it's not endorsing any token, including FRONG.
