Rangers are making another push for Couhaib Driouech. The Scottish club has signaled serious interest in bringing the PSV Eindhoven forward to Ibrox, reigniting a chase that started back in summer 2024.
This time they've got company. Danny Rohl is reportedly in the mix for the 24-year-old winger's signature, which complicates Rangers' plans considerably.
Driouech spent 85 matches at Excelsior before joining PSV in July 2024, scoring 12 goals during that spell. He signed a five-year deal at Eindhoven, calling it "absolutely beautiful" at the time, which was about as clear a signal as you get that he wasn't going anywhere.
Rangers first came calling during the 2024 summer window when the Moroccan-Dutch talent was still with Excelsior. The interest didn't fade once Driouech moved to PSV.
By February 2025, rumors surfaced about a potential £3 million loan-to-buy arrangement between the clubs. Media outlets quickly shot those down as inactive, meaning there were no real negotiations happening behind the scenes.
Rohl's involvement shifts the dynamic. He managed Rangers from October 2025 through June 2026, posting a 55% win rate across 40 matches. His interest in Driouech suggests he spotted something during his time at Ibrox and still believes in the player's potential.
The wrinkle here is that Rohl knows exactly how Rangers operate. He's competed against them before and understands their transfer mechanics. For Rangers to land Driouech, they'd need to either outbid or outsmart someone with inside knowledge of their approach.
PSV hold all the cards. A five-year contract means they have use and no reason to accept a lowball offer. The £3 million figure floated in February gives a rough idea of the price Rangers might be targeting, but expect PSV to demand significantly more.
