DMarket has reclaimed its position as the leader in daily non-fungible token (NFT) sales, briefly overtaken by the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) last week. This resurgence is significant as it highlights not only the dynamic nature of the NFT market but also the competitive landscape between notable collections.
According to data from CryptoSlam, DMarket generated $747,527 across 32,377 transactions on Sunday. This brings its total all-time sales to over $490 million, positioning it just under $10 million from surpassing the half-billion mark. Such figures emphasize DMarket's strong presence in the NFT space, particularly as it represents in-game virtual items from popular titles like Counter-Strike and Dota 2.
Last week, DMarket held the top spot until BAYC took over on Wednesday, demonstrating the volatility and rapid shifts in NFT sales rankings that can occur within days. The secondary sales for BAYC have remained strong, but the return of DMarket indicates that collectors are actively engaging with a diverse range of NFT offerings.
On the same day, CryptoPunks, a historically significant collection, drew in $676,331 from just 10 transactions, contributing to its all-time sales volume of $2.86 billion. Meanwhile, a new player in the market, Fashion Girl, a Polygon-based collection, secured third place with $529,002 in sales, illustrating the increasing competition among emerging NFT projects.
Ethereum continues to dominate the blockchain platforms for NFT sales, with total sales reaching $3.57 million on Sunday, a notable increase from $2.58 million the previous day. This highlights Ethereum's ongoing dominance in the NFT sector compared to other blockchains, such as Solana and Polygon, which reported $2.89 million and $2.01 million respectively.
