GRVT launched 1 billion tokens on July 30. The community response has been messy.

The ZKsync-based hybrid exchange handed out 28% of total supply as community rewards and airdrops, up from an original plan of 22%. But here's what torched user expectations: only 40% unlocks at TGE. The rest trickles out in 20% chunks every four months through month twelve. If you got 10,000 tokens, you pocketed 4,000 at launch. You're waiting until November for the next 2,000, then again in February and May next year.

The math on this release looks tight. That initial 40% unlock handed out roughly 11.43% of all GRVT ever created, pushing circulating supply to about 114 million tokens. Trading between $0.26 and $0.27 per coin, the floating market cap landed near $30 million. August 29 brings the next unlock. November 29 follows. Each one doubles the available supply in chunks.

Why the vesting matters now

GRVT added claim multipliers to sweeten allocations for active participants. More engagement during the airdrop window meant fatter allocations when tokens actually showed up. The mechanics tracked on paper. The timing, though, is where things got spiky. Early buyers who expected instant liquidity found themselves watching 60% of their airdrop sit locked while the price discovered itself on minimal float.

The platform itself runs as a hybrid order-matching system. Orders execute off-chain for speed, then settle on-chain on ZKsync's zero-knowledge infrastructure. That architecture lets GRVT bake in privacy features most decentralized exchanges skip. The project pulled over $14 million in funding, including a $19 million Series A closed in 2025. Exchange listings are supposed to arrive next, which could pump liquidity beyond what the current supply can support.

The next unlock on August 29 dumps fresh tokens into a market still finding its legs. Token holders are watching whether the $0.26 to $0.27 baseline holds as circulating supply climbs. Three more unlocks remain. By May 2027, everyone with airdrop tokens will have the full amount. What price discovery looks like by then is anyone's guess.
