"DMarket doesn't stay down for long," one NFT market watcher might have said watching Sunday's CryptoSlam figures roll in. The gaming-focused collection posted $747,527 in secondary sales across 32,377 transactions in a single day, enough to push BAYC back to second and reclaim the top spot it had surrendered mid-week. The milestone also pushed DMarket's all-time sales volume past $490 million, placing it less than $10 million short of the half-billion mark.
DMarket trades in virtual in-game items from titles like Counter-Strike and Dota 2, which explains the transaction volume: skins and weapon cases change hands far more frequently than profile-picture collectibles. The collection had led the NFT market at the start of last week too, only for Bored Ape Yacht Club to steal the lead on Wednesday before losing it again by Sunday. CryptoPunks finished second for the day with $676,331 spread across just 10 transactions, a reminder of how different the buyer base is. That collection now sits at $2.86 billion in lifetime sales, third on the all-time leaderboard.
The third daily slot went to Fashion Girl, a new Polygon-based collection that debuted over the weekend and pulled in $529,002 on its first full day of trading. Ethereum dominated the blockchain rankings with $3.57 million in NFT sales on Sunday, up sharply from $2.58 million the day before and supported by 20,409 processed transactions. Solana trailed with $2.89 million, and Polygon, buoyed partly by Fashion Girl's debut, recorded $2.01 million.
