CryptoPunks claimed the top spot on CryptoSlam's daily NFT sales chart for the third day running on Wednesday, pulling in $1.29 million across just 15 transactions. Eleven unique buyers and 13 sellers participated, with an average sale price of $86,582 per Punk. The streak pushed the collection's all-time sales volume to $2.87 billion, placing it third in the overall NFT market rankings.

The run comes at an awkward moment for the collection. Investor Deepak Thapliyal this week confirmed he had sold Punk #5822, once valued at $24 million at the height of the 2021-2022 bull market. He did not disclose the price, but community members widely believe it went for around 5,000 ETH, roughly $12.8 million at current rates. That would represent a loss of more than $11 million in dollar terms.

Who else made the daily chart

Bored Ape Yacht Club finished second with $861,724 spread over 26 transactions. Third place went to Mythos Chain's DMarket, which logged $738,879 in sales and an outsized 25,578 transactions, a volume figure that dwarfs every other collection on the list. Pudgy Penguins came in fourth at $587,545, followed by Guild of Guardians Heroes at $464,522 and Mutant Ape Yacht Club at $433,094.

On the blockchain side, Ethereum dominated, recording $6.46 million in total NFT sales for the day, comfortably ahead of every competing chain.

NFT traders pushed Ethereum-based collections hard on Wednesday even as talk of declining Punk valuations circulated across community channels.
