Unserious has acquired Creepz, one of the most recognizable NFT collections from the 2021-22 cycle, with backing from entrepreneur and investor Adam Weitsman. The original founders supported the deal, handing the lizard cult brand to a new team that has real operational weight behind it.
The headline name returning is Psychrome, the creative mind who built the entire Creepz lore from scratch. He's back to lead IP development, and his resume goes well beyond the NFT world: a globally exhibited artist whose commercial work includes partnerships with Nike, Salomon, Sneaker Con, Staple, Disney, Warner Bros., and Rovio. That's a rare combination of web3 credibility and mainstream brand experience in one person.
Unserious itself brings a track record across consumer brands, entertainment, and enterprise tech. The team was also involved in some of crypto's largest token launches, including the historic ApeCoin rollout. Whether that pedigree translates into a meaningful revival for Creepz holders remains to be seen, but the infrastructure is there.
On a lighter note, Unserious took a moment to formally deny the existence of lizard people, their alleged evil activities, and any reported plans for $CREEPZ world domination. The statement was issued without elaboration.
