Trump Media offloaded an additional 2,628 Bitcoin valued at around $165 million, extending its losses on a stash bought at near record highs. This sale coincides with the activation of Truth API, a paid service that offers institutions faster access to President Trump's Truth Social posts.

According to analytics from Lookonchain, Trump Media has sold a total of 7,281 BTC so far. The company initially acquired 11,542 BTC for roughly $1.37 billion, paying an average price of $118,522 per coin. However, sales over the past seven months have averaged just $74,855, generating about $545 million and locking in a $555 million loss on realized and unrealized holdings.

The company’s latest quarterly filing confirms these figures, listing 9,542 BTC with a cost basis of $1.13 billion at the end of March, plus 2,000 BTC tied to options. Approximately 4,260 BTC remain restricted, pledged against convertible notes until May 2028. Meanwhile, Bitcoin is trading near $63,471, almost half its peak reached in October 2025.

Truth API Offers Premium Access to Presidential Posts

On August 1, Truth API opened to institutional clients, charging up to $100,000 per month for early delivery of Trump’s posts. Longer-term commitments reduce the price to $60,000 a month. This data licensing move aims to monetize market-sensitive content directly from Truth Social.

Trump Media’s financials reflect the pressure from Bitcoin losses a $244 million mark-to-market hit contributed to a $406 million quarterly net loss. Still, the subscription service could add to revenues, which rose slightly to $871,200 in the first quarter compared to the previous year.
