Ring Protocol has added dLIMIT and dTWAP order types to its multi-chain DEX, with the integration live across Base, Ethereum, Arbitrum, and BNB Chain simultaneously. The orders run on Orbs' Layer 3 infrastructure, and users keep full self-custody of their assets throughout. No extra fees come with the advanced features.
What dLIMIT and dTWAP actually do
dLIMIT works the way a traditional limit order does: a trade fires only when the market hits a target price set by the user, or better. No centralized intermediary sits in the middle. dTWAP takes a different approach, splitting a large position into smaller chunks and spreading execution across a time window the trader chooses. That reduces the price impact of moving a big order through on-chain liquidity pools.
Both protocols are permissionless and composable, meaning they bolt onto existing DEX infrastructure without touching the underlying smart contracts. Orbs handles the heavy execution logic through a Proof-of-Stake validator network at the Layer 3 level, going well beyond what native smart contracts can process on their own.
The architecture underneath Ring Protocol
Ring Protocol is built on top of Few Protocol, short for Financial Elastic Wrapping. Tokens get wrapped through this asset layer before they hit any automated market maker, which opens the door to virtual liquidity and trading mechanics that standard DEX designs cannot support. The exchange also runs its own Ring Swap AMM alongside integrations with external DEX liquidity.
Ran Hammer, Chief Business Officer at Orbs, said advanced trading tools should reach every DeFi user, not just professional desks. The Ring Protocol deal is part of a broader push by Orbs to get dLIMIT and dTWAP adopted across more protocols and raise the baseline for what on-chain execution can look like.
