Jim Cramer flagged it on July 22, posting to his social media audience that Nvidia is "on fire" and admitting nobody quite knows why. The stock didn't wait for an explanation. Over the past 24 hours NVDA climbed nearly 4%, hitting around $213.66 and pushing the company's market cap past $5 trillion, the largest of any publicly traded company on earth.

The move extends a sharp recovery. After getting stuck in a correction phase from mid-May through late June 2026, Nvidia has now gained over 9.6% in July alone, up from $194.83 on July 2.

What analysts are actually saying

Part of the fuel came from Bank of America analyst Vivek Arya, who on Wednesday reiterated a Buy rating on NVDA and set a 12-month price target of $350. That implies more than 63% upside from current levels. Arya tied his optimism to BofA's forecast that the CPU market will reach $170 billion by 2030, a space where Nvidia's Vera CPU is increasingly going head-to-head with AMD. Broader Wall Street sentiment lines up: 37 analysts tracked by TipRanks have issued a Strong Buy on the stock, with an average 12-month target of $309.94.

Beyond the analyst chatter, Nvidia has been quietly building out its balance sheet. The company disclosed it holds 22.2 million shares in Nebius Group, giving it a 10% stake in the AI cloud infrastructure firm. Earlier on Tuesday, Nvidia also launched its Medical Physics Simulation framework, pushing further into healthcare AI. Neither headline moved markets dramatically on its own, but together they paint a picture of a company still actively expanding rather than coasting on its GPU dominance.
