On July 28, 2026, Emirates rolled out Crypto.com Pay as a payment option on its website and mobile app for UAE residents booking flights priced in Emirati dirhams.

Travelers with a Crypto.com account can now select this method at checkout, completing payments through Crypto.com’s Dubai-based platform that complies with local regulations. The move follows a partnership agreement signed in July 2025, with the airline and Crypto.com moving from concept to launch in under a year.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ deputy president and chief commercial officer, highlighted that this addition caters to customers increasingly managing finances via smartphones while broadening payment choices. Currently, the service applies only to bookings settled in dirhams by eligible UAE residents, with no international or multi-currency support announced yet.

Using Crypto.com Pay on the Emirates App redirects users to the Crypto.com app to authorize the transaction before returning for booking confirmation. On desktop, customers scan a QR code to approve payments in the Crypto.com app, receiving their ticket once completed.

This launch aligns with Dubai’s ambitious goal to have 90% of transactions digital across public and private sectors by 2026. Emirates might consider expanding Crypto.com Pay beyond UAE borders based on demand and regulatory clarity.

Crypto.com’s growing footprint in the region reflects the broader trend of integrating crypto payments into mainstream services.
