Clear Creek Financial Management revealed holdings totaling about $15.1 million in cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in its latest US regulatory filing, with Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs making up the lion’s share.
Bitcoin ETFs Lead the Crypto Portfolio
Bitcoin-related ETFs dominated Clear Creek’s crypto exposure. The largest stake was in Bitwise’s BITB fund, where the firm held 304,155 shares valued near $9.69 million at the quarter’s end. Alongside BITB, Clear Creek owned roughly $477,412 in BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust and $248,539 in the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust. The combined Bitcoin ETF positions amounted to about $10.4 million, representing the majority of their crypto allocation. Given Clear Creek manages over $1.5 billion in assets, these crypto holdings form a relatively small piece of the overall portfolio.
It’s important to note that the data comes from a Form 13F filing, which only captures long positions in qualifying US securities as of the quarter’s close. The firm could have shifted its positions since then, including adding or selling assets not covered by the filing.
Ethereum and Other Crypto ETFs Gain Ground
Ethereum ETFs comprised the second-largest portion of Clear Creek’s crypto exposure, totaling nearly $4.3 million. This included 337,162 shares of the Bitwise Ethereum ETF valued at about $3.8 million, 14,336 shares of the iShares Ethereum Trust worth $170,455, and 21,374 shares of the Grayscale Ethereum Staking ETF with a value of $321,251. The staking ETF offers exposure to ETH while reflecting staking rewards from Ethereum’s proof-of-stake network, after fees.
Clear Creek’s portfolio also expanded beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum, including XRP and Solana ETFs, highlighting a broader crypto strategy. This development comes as major Wall Street firms, like Morgan Stanley, recently launched Ethereum and Solana staking ETFs, signaling growing institutional interest in these digital assets and their associated yield products.
