Elon Musk announced that SpaceXAI’s Grok 4.6 is aiming for a release around August 7. This latest iteration is set to feature 1.5 trillion parameters, boasting enhanced supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning for improved performance.
Just weeks after, Musk expects to roll out Grok 4.7, a larger model with 2.1 trillion parameters. While Grok 4.7 promises to outperform 4.6 in nearly every way, it might respond a bit slower but offers better token efficiency. Details on pricing and availability for both models remain under wraps.
Setting the Bar with Grok 4.5
Earlier in July, SpaceXAI introduced Grok 4.5, designed for coding and knowledge tasks, with competitive pricing at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens. Grok 4.5 topped a cybersecurity price-performance test by Vercel’s CEO Guillermo Rauch. It outpaced rivals by a wide margin, costing 10 times less than OpenAI’s GPT-5.6 Sol and more than twice as cheap compared to Anthropic’s Opus 5.
