Strategy offloaded 1,638 Bitcoin on Monday, raising $104.7 million and marking the fifth consecutive week of trimming rather than accumulating the asset. The sale, executed between July 27 and August 2 at an average price of $63,957 per coin, came as the company shifted focus toward cash management and funding shareholder obligations.
Half the proceeds went to dividend payments on preferred stock, with the remainder funding buybacks of the company's STRC shares. Simultaneously, Strategy sold 3 million shares of common stock through its at-the-market program, pocketing $290.6 million and funneling $250 million into its USD Reserve, now sitting at $4 billion.
The pattern reflects a broader pivot this summer. Rather than chase accumulation, the company has leaned on equity sales and Bitcoin liquidation to cover expenses. Yet the messaging from leadership remains unchanged. CEO Phong Le has reiterated that Strategy intends to remain a long-term buyer, despite the recent pullback.
Strategy still holds 842,138 Bitcoin on its balance sheet, worth roughly $54 billion at current prices. The company acquired that stash at an average cost of $63.51 billion, leaving it modestly underwater on its historical average entry point.
