Most DeFi traders have opened a leveraged position without any downside protection, not because they wanted to, but because setting it up was genuinely painful. Strikes, expiries, implied volatility readings, and a separate options interface were enough to make even experienced traders walk away. Aevo just removed that friction entirely, and now it fits in your pocket.
The decentralized derivatives exchange, which has processed over $10 billion in options volume since 2020, has pushed its PERPS+ feature to mobile. The rollout completes full parity between the desktop and mobile platforms: every tool available on a laptop screen is now available on a phone. Traders can grab the app on the App Store or Google Play, though the service remains unavailable to users in the U.S. and U.K.
What PERPS+ actually does at the moment of entry
The core idea is simple. When a trader opens a perpetual futures position, PERPS+ lets them attach structured protection in a single tap, no options knowledge required. Aevo handles the construction, pricing, and execution behind the scenes. Three enhancers are available at entry on BTC and ETH perps:
- Limit My Loss sets a hard ceiling on losses the moment a trade opens, with no cap on potential upside.
- Get Paid to Hold pays the trader an upfront premium immediately, with a defined profit ceiling applied in return.
- Lock My Range fixes both the floor and ceiling of a position for roughly zero upfront cost.
Before PERPS+, getting a risk-defined position like this meant going through an options desk or locking funds into a DeFi vault that dictated its own terms. Neither route was quick, and neither put the trader in control of the parameters. That gap is closed now.
Two groups get the most immediate value. Perps traders who have never touched options can now add protection to positions they were already planning to open. DeFi vault users get structured exposure on their own conditions, setting parameters instead of accepting whatever the vault offers.
The infrastructure bets that paid off
PERPS+ on mobile fits a pattern. Aevo built a custom Ethereum layer-2 early on that runs order matching off-chain while settling on-chain. At the time that was a design choice; now it is the dominant model across decentralized derivatives. Execution speeds rival centralized venues without removing custody from the trader.
The same logic applied to aeUSD, the exchange's yield-bearing trading collateral. It has been live in production for close to two years. Collateral earns passively at all times, whether a position is open or sitting flat. That is not a feature most traders think to ask for, which is probably why Aevo built it before anyone was asking.
The PERPS+ mobile launch is the latest step, not the last one. The team's track record suggests whatever comes next will arrive before the market knows it needs it.
