XRP is trading at $1.13, up more than 9% in July after opening the month at $1.0385, with a monthly range stretching from $1.0210 to a high of $1.1828. That gain is decent on its own, but analysts are focused on something bigger: a multi-year ascending triangle that has been quietly forming since 2018 and continues to hold.

The pattern goes back eight years. The lower trendline has been climbing steadily from the 2017 lows, stitching together higher lows through the 2019 correction, the 2020 accumulation period, and the brutal 2022 bear market bottom. Every dip produced a floor above the previous one, which is a clear sign that buyers kept stepping in at progressively higher levels across multiple full market cycles. The upper trendline, meanwhile, has acted as flat resistance anchored around the 2018 peak near $3.3, turning back every major rally since then.

XRP did break above that resistance in 2024 and pushed past $3.6 in July 2025 before retreating back inside the triangle. The current price of roughly $1.13 sits comfortably above the rising lower trendline, so the structure remains intact despite the pullback.

Fibonacci Levels Carve Out the Road Ahead

The Fibonacci framework here measures the full swing from $0.4094 at the base to $3.5733 at the top. At current prices, XRP sits between the 0.33 retracement at $0.8369 and the 0.618 level at $1.5620, placing it in the lower portion of that retracement band. The $0.8369 zone is now the critical floor: as long as price holds above it, the correction from the 2024 breakout looks like a routine pullback rather than a structural collapse.

The first meaningful hurdle on the way up sits at $1.5620. A monthly close above that level would suggest the corrective phase is winding down. Beyond it, the 0.786 Fibonacci level at $2.2477 and the 0.888 level at $2.8035 form the next cluster of resistance before price approaches the triangle's ceiling again.

The 1.0 Fibonacci level at $3.5733 coincides almost exactly with the upper resistance of the ascending triangle. That confluence rejected XRP in 2018 and again capped the 2024 breakout attempt. A confirmed monthly close above $3.5733 would clear a resistance that has held for the better part of a decade, and the Fibonacci extension targets that open up after that are $6.44 and $8.76.
