The XRP Ledger is gearing up for a significant update scheduled to activate in under two days. The fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment has secured strong backing from validators, reaching an 85.71% consensus, surpassing the 80% threshold needed to trigger its activation.

What This Upgrade Brings

This upcoming amendment targets key fixes across multiple components of the XRP ecosystem, including Single Asset Vaults, the Lending Protocol, the permissioned DEX, Multi-Purpose Tokens, and permissioned domains. The upgrade is set to go live on the mainnet on July 29, following a voting process that demanded consistent support from trusted validators over a two-week period.

The amendment system on the XRP Ledger ensures that any changes affecting transaction processing undergo a rigorous consensus process. This mechanism requires validators to approve fixes through voting, guaranteeing that only widely supported updates are implemented.

This release follows Ripple's recent security initiatives, including the fixCleanup3_1_3 update activated on May 27, which addressed NFTs, Permissioned Domains, Vaults, and the Lending Protocol. Ripple also announced in March the formation of an AI-assisted red team dedicated to identifying vulnerabilities within the XRP Ledger.

The fixCleanup3_2_0 update is part of the broader XRPL 3.2.0 release, which began rolling out in June and focuses primarily on cleanup and maintenance fixes from a backlog of confirmed issues.
