On July 24, 2026, World Foundation closed a $52.5 million funding round led by Pantera Capital, with participation from Bain Capital Crypto and Eightco Holdings.

The nonprofit plans to use the fresh capital to boost its proof-of-humanity infrastructure, a system designed to verify unique individuals amid rising AI-driven content online.

As artificial intelligence generates more synthetic and autonomous agents, demand for human verification tools is surging, according to investors backing the project.

World Foundation, formerly known as Worldcoin, employs its Orb biometric device to confirm user identity while maintaining privacy protections. This round follows a $135 million token sale last year, marking a shift from developing the network to focusing on adoption and practical use.

Since launching three years ago, World’s global network has attracted around 40 million users through its privacy-conscious World ID system. This platform enables users to prove they are human without exposing personal details.

World’s technology is already integrated into services such as Zoom, Tinder, and event ticketing platforms, helping reduce bots and fraud.

Looking ahead, the organization aims to expand proof-of-humanity tech across online platforms, businesses, and AI agents. It also plans to release a new World ID app and reveal additional products before the year ends.
