Ethereum’s price action has taken a key turn as it breaks above a key descending trendline that had limited its recovery for months. This breakout suggests a growing momentum shift within a multiyear ascending accumulation channel ongoing since 2022, marking a key juncture for ETH’s trajectory.
Accumulation Channel and Support Dynamics
ETH remains entrenched in what analyst Javon Marks calls the largest accumulation phase in its history. This broad accumulation channel, established over several years, acts as a foundational support zone. The price currently hovers near the lower boundary of this channel, and holding above this trendline is vital to preserving the bullish setup. Marks projects targets at $5,000, $8,500, and even $12,000, contingent on ETH reversing upward from this support.
The significance of this accumulation phase cannot be overstated. Historically, similar consolidation patterns have preceded expansive upward rallies. The size and duration of this phase imply that any eventual breakout could lead to substantial gains, elevating Ethereum beyond previous highs.
Resistance Levels and Recovery Challenges
The breakout above the descending trendline is an encouraging technical development but not the final hurdle. Immediate resistance lies between $1,950 and $2,150, a range characterized by high trading volumes that could act as a choke point. Ethereum must sustain gains above this zone to validate the breakout’s strength.
Further resistance levels derived from Fibonacci retracements appear at $2,501, $2,970, and $3,349. Each milestone presents a test for buyer conviction; failure to hold above these points could stall the recovery. Analyst Donald Dean highlights a longer-term target of $6,941.60, aligned with the golden ratio extension, but reaching this level depends on Ethereum overcoming multiple layers of resistance, including additional barriers near $3,728 and $4,108.
These resistance zones form a roadmap that will determine Ethereum’s medium-term price discovery. Investors should watch how ETH navigates these levels as indicators for the sustainability of the bullish move.
