US spot Bitcoin ETFs added another $69 million on Wednesday, stretching their winning streak to seven consecutive sessions without a single day of net outflows. That kind of consistency hasn't been common in 2024, when the funds regularly swung between heavy buying and sharp redemptions within the same week.
The streak began quietly, with modest daily figures that most traders shrugged off. But the numbers compounded fast. Seven sessions of unbroken inflows tend to signal that institutional buyers, not retail punters flipping positions overnight, are driving the flow. Retail money moves erratically. Pension allocators and hedge funds building a position do it steadily, a little at a time, exactly the pattern visible here.
Nearly $1 billion in one stretch
By the close on Wednesday the cumulative total for the seven-session run had reached just under $1 billion, putting the funds on track to cross that threshold with even a modest Thursday. Since their January launch these ETFs have already absorbed tens of billions in aggregate, but a clean seven-day streak of this size is still notable, particularly at a moment when broader risk appetite has been uneven across equity and credit markets.
The products from BlackRock, Fidelity and smaller rivals all participate in the daily flow data published by Bloomberg and Farside Investors, though individual fund breakdowns for Wednesday's session were not immediately available at the time of writing.
