Upbit, one of South Korea's leading crypto exchanges, kicked off trading for Conflux's CFX token on July 31. The platform opened markets for Korean won, Bitcoin, and Tether pairs, allowing users to trade CFX directly with fiat or popular cryptocurrencies. Despite an initial plan to start trading at 16:00 KST, the launch was pushed back to 16:45 KST, following a brief delay in integrating Conflux eSpace services.
Direct KRW Trading Boosts Local Accessibility
The addition of CFX to Upbit’s roster means Korean traders no longer need to convert won into Bitcoin or stablecoins before acquiring CFX. This direct route simplifies access and reduces friction for local investors. At 13:30 KST on launch day, CFX prices hovered around 58.25 won, 0.00000062 BTC, and 0.04044 USDT. To maintain orderly market conditions, Upbit imposed a five-minute ban on buy orders immediately after opening, and restricted sell orders priced more than 10% below the previous close. Limit orders were allowed only during the first two hours. These measures reflect a cautious approach to introducing new tokens while protecting traders.
Tokenomics and Trading Volume Reflect Growing Interest
Conflux's native token, CFX, traded near $0.04077 with a slight dip of 0.64% over the last 24 hours. the trading volume surged by over 1000%, reaching roughly $70 million, signaling heightened market activity around the new listing. The token’s market cap stands at approximately $212 million. Upbit supports deposits and withdrawals via Conflux eSpace exclusively, warning users that tokens sent through other networks like Core Space won't be credited automatically and recovery may be difficult or impossible.
The tokenomics of CFX started with a 5 billion supply split among various stakeholders including the Ecosystem Fund, founders, private investors, the Community Fund, and the Conflux Foundation. Most vesting schedules have ended, with total supply now expected between 5.2 and 5.7 billion tokens. Upbit’s launch and growing trading interest come at a time when token burns and moderate inflation interplay within Conflux’s economics.
