Shytoshi Kusama, the lead ambassador for Shiba Inu, has remained silent on social media platform X for 74 days. Since May 13, he has neither posted nor interacted with any content, prompting speculation within the SHIB community about a possible upcoming announcement.

Kusama has a history of going quiet on X, having taken similar breaks in late 2025 and during parts of 2026. According to his past statements, the silence relates to his focus on development projects, including an independent AI initiative he revealed earlier this year. His updates, often communicated through bio changes or live streams on X, have kept followers informed in the past.

Now, with no recent activity, the community relies on other sources such as Shiba Inu ecosystem contributors and on-chain data to track progress. The pattern of Kusama returning after pauses with new information has led some to expect a fresh update soon, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Shiba Inu Token Burns Remain Steady

Despite Kusama’s absence, the Shiba Inu burn activity continues actively. Data from Shibburn shows that over the past 24 hours, 7.15 million SHIB tokens were burned, marking a 66% increase in the daily burn rate. Over the last seven days, the burn total reached 60.58 million SHIB, and in the past 30 days, 288.61 million SHIB have been taken out of circulation.

This ongoing burn effort reflects sustained community engagement even without recent posts from Kusama. The ambassador’s silence contrasts with the ecosystem’s continued momentum.
