Robinhood Chain just overtook Solana in tokenized stock trading volume by hosting memecoins paired with tokenized equities like Nvidia and Tesla. Since mid-July, platforms like Bankr and long.xyz enabled users to create memecoins backed by liquidity from over 90 tokenized stock tickers on Robinhood Chain. This unexpected use case flipped the script on tokenized stocks, which barely had any traction until now.

Tokenized stocks have long been pitched as a way to enable global access to American equities and continuous trading through blockchain. After years of regulatory hurdles, low volumes, and failed projects, the rise of speculative pairs combining memecoins and tokenized equities has finally triggered significant activity. Now the biggest pools on Robinhood Chain include pairs of memecoins and tokenized names like NVDA, TSLA, INTC, Roblox, and SpaceX.

Volume and future developments

The surge in these memecoin-equity pairs has driven daily decentralized exchange volume on Robinhood Chain to roughly $444 million, surpassing Solana’s tokenized stock activity tracked by Ondo, which averages about $24.9 million on multichain stock tokens. However, tokenized equities still make up only a small portion of the chain’s overall trading, with most volume centered on memecoins.

Pons is preparing version 2 support for tokenized quotes including major stocks like Nvidia and Apple, though it remains under audit and in development. This moment marks a sharp pivot from tokenized stocks being an academic or regulatory experiment to becoming a functional component of highly speculative decentralized markets.
