Pons, a launchpad platform operating on Robinhood Chain, has released its version 2 update, unveiling features designed to boost liquidity, remove trading barriers, and introduce support for tokenized real-world assets (RWAs). This comes as Robinhood Chain demonstrates rapid growth, now exceeding $300 million in total value locked and ranking among the busiest Ethereum Layer 2 networks focused on speculative trading.

The Pons launchpad caters specifically to utility and equity tokens with a fixed supply and offers an explorer, creator dashboard, wallet analytics, and full on-chain data. Though not an official Robinhood product, Pons has quickly gained favor among Robinhood Chain traders.

Pons V2 responds to community concerns by addressing liquidity issues and lifting most trading restrictions. It introduces a bonding curve priced in ETH, enabling smooth trades without the previous failed transactions caused by third-party apps. Developer wallets remain subject to configurable trading limits, but non-developer users can now trade freely.

The fee system has also been revamped: creators will default to collecting fees in ETH, rather than accumulating fees in the token they launched. This is facilitated through new Uniswap V4 pools, while an option to receive payouts in other supported assets is available at token deployment.

Robinhood Chain has made waves with a cumulative decentralized exchange (DEX) volume exceeding $9 billion, with roughly 80% attributed to high-risk memecoins. Yet beneath the trading fervor, profit distribution remains uneven. According to FalconX Senior Crypto Market Strategist Martin Gaspar, 63% of traders are currently at a loss, and only 46 wallets have earned over $1 million.

This speculative atmosphere has sparked concerns over sustainability, as highlighted by AMBCrypto, noting that initial hype from memecoin launches risks fading without fundamental backing.

The addition of custom RWA trading pairs in Pons V2 aligns with Robinhood Chain’s strategic focus on expanding real-world asset tokenization. Gaspar points out that expanding tokenized stock market capitalization and enabling practical on-chain utilities could foster genuine adoption for Robinhood Chain.

Within a single month, Robinhood Chain is challenging competitors like Base, staking its claim as a leading platform for speculative trading, supported by Pons V2’s contribution to RWA integration.

Market reaction shows increased attention but mixed trader sentiment persists.
