Pendle Finance teamed up with Project VEX AI to bring fully automated yield execution to Pendle’s markets across 11 blockchains. This new collaboration aims to radically cut down the manual effort required for yield farming by deploying an AI agent that scans over 100 markets every five minutes.
The VEX AI agent operates by letting users set a single yield mandate where they specify their target returns, capital limits, preferred maturities, and risk tolerance. After this one-time setup and approval, the AI takes over, autonomously handling Principal Token, Yield Token, and liquidity provider positions without constant user interaction. It checks the markets 72 times more often than a typical trader scanning every six hours, which translates into a 12-fold increase in spotting timely yield opportunities before they vanish.
How It Works and Why It Matters
Execution happens locally through the Pendle Router to ensure compliance with user preferences, rather than relying on external servers with discretionary control. This design reportedly slashes active management time by over 90%, freeing users from the intense monitoring that yield farming traditionally demands.
Pendle Finance is well suited for this innovation. As the largest platform for trading tokenized future yield, Pendle allows users to split assets into Principal Tokens redeemable at maturity and Yield Tokens that collect the variable returns. This separation lets traders lock in fixed returns, hedge risks, or provide liquidity effectively. The VEX AI integration builds on Pendle’s earlier PendleAI plugin, extending autonomous trading from seven to eleven EVM-compatible chains.
The announcement rolled out on July 22 and 23, 2026, with both parties promoting the launch. also the $VEX token is live on Robinhood Chain through Virtuals, establishing a token economy linked to usage of the AI agent.
