Imagine asking your company’s database a question as simply as you would a colleague, and getting an answer immediately, no tech jargon needed. That’s the reality Oracle and Google are pushing with their latest collaboration. They’ve launched a new AI tool that lets anyone query complex enterprise data using plain English, removing the need to write any SQL.
This update, announced at Google Cloud Next 2026, centers on the Oracle AI Database Agent powered by Google’s Gemini AI models. Instead of database admins having to manually interpret or write intricate queries, now teams across finance, operations, or leadership can interact directly with data, lowering the traditional barriers to access.
What makes this partnership stand out is the technical setup. Oracle's Exadata and Autonomous Database services now run inside Google Cloud data centers. This means data and computing resources stay in the same place, avoiding slow and costly back-and-forth data transfers between clouds. It’s a smoother, faster way to get insights from enterprise databases.
The path to this point started back in mid-2024 when Oracle and Google first linked their cloud infrastructures. Over time, they expanded their joint services, with the latest AI integration being a natural next step. First, it was about sharing the infrastructure. Now, it’s about layering intelligence directly on top.
By enabling natural language queries, companies can democratize data access beyond just IT specialists. Finance teams or executives can now ask questions like "What were last quarter’s sales in Europe?" or "Show me customer churn rates," without needing to know any coding. This opens up data-driven decision-making to a much wider audience within organizations.
