Nexo has revamped its European operations by collaborating with two BaFin-regulated German firms, Tangany and DLT Finance, to fully comply with the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR).
This move allows Nexo to maintain uninterrupted service across the European Economic Area without securing a direct MiCAR license. Tangany handles secure custody of digital assets while DLT Finance manages brokerage and execution under both MiCAR and MiFID II frameworks.
Clear Compliance to Build Trust
Yasen Yankov, Nexo’s chief product officer, emphasized that their partners were chosen for stringent regulatory adherence and technical expertise, aligning with Nexo’s focus on client protection. Eleonor Genova, head of communications, highlighted that MiCAR’s clarity offers a critical benchmark, expected to consolidate European crypto users around a limited number of regulated platforms in 2026.
Despite some critiques of EU rules as excessive, Nexo sees MiCAR as a foundation for strengthening trust and long-term stability in the digital asset space.
