Just one month after Nvidia's Vera Rubin platform entered full production in June 2026, Nebius already had a complete NVL72 rack tested and validated at its data center in Mäntsälä, Finland. The rack houses 72 Rubin GPUs and 36 Vera CPUs, paired with Nvidia Spectrum-6 switches, making it one of the earliest live deployments of the architecture anywhere outside Nvidia's own labs.
The speed matters. Getting a rack of this complexity stood up, tested, and signed off in under four weeks points to a level of coordination with Nvidia that most cloud providers simply don't have. Nebius holds the designation of Reference Platform Nvidia Cloud Partner, and that relationship has clearly translated into early hardware access.
This isn't the company's first move at the Finnish site. Back in December 2025, Nebius deployed Europe's first GB300 NVL72 rack at the same Mäntsälä facility. The Vera Rubin installation layers a newer generation on top of what's already running there. The company plans to make the platform available through its AI Cloud and Token Factory services in the second half of 2026.
The capital behind all this is substantial. Nvidia committed $2 billion directly to Nebius in March 2026. Then came a five-year, $27 billion AI infrastructure agreement with Meta, specifically tied to advancing Vera Rubin deployments. Separately, Nebius has a 310 MW AI factory under construction in Lappeenranta, with the long-term ambition of reaching over 5 GW of Nvidia capacity by 2030. Vera Rubin claims up to 10x throughput per watt compared to previous-generation hardware, which is what makes that kind of scale financially imaginable.
For anyone watching from the crypto side: Nebius runs no blockchain workloads. Its Token Factory branding shares vocabulary with crypto but refers to AI inference tokenization, not on-chain anything. The more relevant signal is structural. In the US, Bitcoin miners like Core Scientific and Applied Digital have already started shifting data center capacity toward AI hosting as GPU demand outcompetes mining economics for power and rack space. The Mäntsälä deployment is another data point in the same direction, just playing out in northern Europe at a larger scale.
