Multicoin Capital has reportedly shifted $5.6 million worth of HYPE tokens to Coinbase following the unstaking of $71.1 million in the same asset. This transfer, identified through on-chain activity, has caught the attention of traders who often monitor such moves ahead of potential market actions.

HYPE is the native token of Hyperliquid, and movements to major exchanges like Coinbase can signal upcoming sales or strategic repositioning by large holders. However, the $5.6 million transfer remains an unconfirmed report due to the absence of a public transaction hash or timestamp on any block explorer, meaning the actual movement is yet to be fully validated.

Interestingly, only a fraction of the unstaked $71.1 million was sent to Coinbase, leaving a significant portion presumably still held or managed differently by Multicoin Capital. This discrepancy raises questions about the fund’s intentions and strategy with the token. Previously, Multicoin Capital has drawn scrutiny for notable wallet activities, such as a $30 million USDC transfer linked to Worldcoin, and has been active in backing projects like Ethena’s ENA token as well as leading seed rounds for Solana-based startups.
