Mandela Digital has received a $5 million commitment from Datavault AI Inc. (NASDAQ: DVLT), with the funds already being deployed. The money goes toward building out the Mandela Dollar, ticker MUSD, a stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the US dollar and aimed at serving unbanked and underbanked populations across the Global South.

Datavault AI is not just writing a check. Under the deal, the company is also bringing its full technology stack to the table: AI-driven compliance platforms, blockchain tokenization patents, SanQtum quantum-resilient encryption, and real-world asset frameworks. That infrastructure will handle MUSD issuance, redemption, on-chain transparency, and exchange integrations from day one.

The 67-Day Window

Mandela Digital opened the Application Stage of its Early Access Programme on Nelson Mandela International Day 2026, July 18th. The window runs for exactly 67 days, a number chosen to mirror the 67 years Nelson Mandela spent fighting for human rights and equality. The project leans deliberately on that legacy, describing itself as combining institutional-grade financial infrastructure with the moral authority of the Mandela name.

The venture is headquartered in Laramie, Wyoming, and went public with its official site at www.mandela.digital on July 22nd. The site is positioned as the central hub for updates, stakeholder information, and programme resources. Regulatory compliance and liquidity buildout are listed as immediate priorities alongside exchange integrations.

DVLT shares were flat in early trading following the announcement.
