Lighter, the decentralized perpetual futures platform, has stepped up efforts to tighten its tokenomics by launching a scheduled token burning program. Founder Vladimir Novakovski shared on X that more than 16 million LIT tokens have already been repurchased, marking a clear move to reduce the circulating supply.
This buyback and burn strategy is designed as a long-term play, aiming to enhance the ecosystem's sustainability and support token value over time. Despite the repurchases, Novakovski insists the token issuance framework remains unchanged from before the Token Generation Event. Interestingly, most existing investors declined to sell, signaling strong confidence in the project’s future.
US Regulation and Blockchain Finance Outlook
Novakovski also touched on pending regulatory changes in the US, specifically the CLARITY Act now before Congress. He believes finalizing this framework could unlock a boom in blockchain-based fundraising and share tokenization, bridging traditional finance and crypto markets more tightly than before. This shift could accelerate growth in blockchain capital markets, paving the way for wider adoption and innovation.
