LBank integrated Chainlink Data Streams on August 6th to speed up its prediction market platform. The crypto exchange now resolves 5 and 15-minute Bitcoin and Ethereum contracts in minutes instead of hours, serving 25 million registered users.
The upgrade targets LBank Predict, the exchange's prediction market product. Chainlink's oracle infrastructure pipes live price data directly into the matching engine, eliminating the lag that plagued short-term contracts. Settlement that used to take a full trading session now completes almost instantly. For retail traders betting on micro-moves in crypto, that difference matters: you lock in a win without waiting for the next price confirmation batch.
LBank positioned this as part of a broader push into tokenized stocks and hybrid finance products. The exchange frames faster data as table stakes for competing on both traditional and crypto fronts. Johann Eid, CBo at Chainlink Labs, framed the deal simply: prediction markets only work if the data resolving them is trustworthy and fast enough to actually close bets at the moment they should close.
The integration lets LBank lean on Chainlink's track record in institutional settlement. Other exchanges have built prediction markets before, but few paired them with enterprise-grade oracle infrastructure from day one. By using Chainlink instead of building an in-house data feed, LBank outsourced the risk of data manipulation or downtime.
