KiiChain opened its public sale for the KII utility token on August 3rd, drawing 9,450 registrations since sign-ups kicked off a week earlier. The sale runs through August 11 as the platform pushes forward with its on-chain foreign exchange infrastructure built for emerging markets.
The timing matters. Global stablecoin volume hit $310 billion in Q1 2026, yet 99 percent of that sits locked in US dollars. Meanwhile, Latin America alone processed $324 billion in stablecoin transactions during 2025, a signal that demand exists where dollars meet local currencies. Businesses need payroll in pesos, payments in reais, settlements in pesos. KiiChain is building the plumbing to move stablecoin liquidity directly into those local markets without forcing every app to build separate conversion routes.
The infrastructure connects global stablecoins like USDT and USDC with locally denominated alternatives across different blockchain networks. A remittance operator or trade finance desk can route a dollar transaction through one layer and settle in local currency on the other side. No separate systems for each currency pair. No fragmented settlement routes.
KiiChain's testnet, called Oro, already has 366,000 participants stress-testing the network. Validators are running nodes. Developers are building applications. The platform has moved past concept stage into actual usage patterns.
How KII Gets Used
The token itself covers transaction fees, validator staking, delegation, and network governance. KiiChain also deploys KII as an incentive mechanism. When local-currency liquidity dries up on one side of a stablecoin pair, the protocol pays KII rewards to attract supply from that direction. It's a way to keep market depth balanced across emerging-market corridors where dollar liquidity dominates.
Danyel Arenas, CEO and co-founder, framed it simply: stablecoins made digital dollars accessible, but their real utility depends on connecting them with the currencies people actually use. The stablecoin infrastructure continues attracting major players, and KiiChain is positioning itself as the on-chain layer that bridges that last mile into emerging markets.
