During an interview on CNBC, Krishna shared his vision that quantum computing's economic impact could reach a trillion dollars by the end of the 2030s. He emphasized how quantum machines solve problems impossible for today's classical computers, completing tasks in seconds that would otherwise take thousands of years.
Companies like IBM, Alphabet, IonQ, and Rigetti Computing are intensely competing to build hardware and software that exploit quantum mechanics. Unlike AI, which thrives on graphics processors to train complex models, quantum computing addresses challenges such as molecular simulations, logistics optimization, material discovery, and enhancing cryptography.
IBM has already made strides by using quantum computers to uncover materials properties that classical computers failed to model. This breakthrough paves the way for industries, including cryptominers, to watch closely as quantum infrastructure evolves, impacting long-term blockchain security.
