Hyperscale Data has quietly expanded its Bitcoin stash to 1,106.0467 BTC, marking a steady accumulation of digital assets as part of its corporate treasury. This increase comes after the company purchased approximately 15 BTC during the week ending July 27, bringing the total Bitcoin holdings to a value of about $71.7 million based on the July 27 closing price of $64,784 per coin.
The AI-focused data center firm began the year with 627.9 BTC in late March, and since then it has ramped up its purchases by more than 460 BTC in just under four months. Hyperscale’s subsidiaries, Sentinum and Ault Capital Group, hold the entire Bitcoin balance, with Ault Capital Group being the recent buyer in the open market.
Building Financial Flexibility Through Bitcoin
Milton “Todd” Ault III, the company’s Executive Chairman, highlights that each Bitcoin added strengthens Hyperscale’s balance sheet and improves its ability to finance growth or pursue strategic moves. The firm aspires to grow its digital asset treasury to $100 million and aims for parity between its Bitcoin holdings and its market capitalization.
Interestingly, Hyperscale’s Bitcoin reserve, currently valued above $70 million, already surpasses its reported market cap near $63 million. This discrepancy points to the market undervaluing the company’s other assets, including cash, data centers in Michigan, and its ongoing business. Shares trade around $0.13, despite the sizable Bitcoin hoard backing them.
Hyperscale’s strategy echoes a broader shift seen in corporate treasuries, following in the footsteps of firms like Strategy Inc., which transitioned from software operations to focus heavily on Bitcoin holdings under the influence of notable advocates like Michael Saylor.
