Institutional Collateral: XRP's New Function
Ripple Prime is turning XRP from a static asset into active collateral. Through XRP-backed depository receipts, institutions can now pledge XRP to access U.S. dollar credit and trade CME futures without liquidating holdings. This innovation preserves market exposure, unlocks liquidity, and may sidestep taxable events, improving capital deployment efficiency.
Besides XRP, Ripple Prime supports collateral in diverse assets like U.S. Treasuries, gold, Bitcoin, fiat currencies, and BlackRock money market funds, creating a unified framework for managing liquidity across asset classes.
