"This could be one of the largest supply distributions in Hedera's history," said Summer, host of the FireHustle Show, after spotting a projected 4.07 billion HBAR quarterly release buried in Hedera's treasury-management forecast for Q3 2026. At prices referenced in the YouTube video, that haul is worth roughly $268 million, with about 3.8 billion of those tokens earmarked for ecosystem development through the Hedera Foundation.

Before the alarm bells ring too loud, the host was careful to separate a treasury transfer from an actual market dump. Hedera defines "released" HBAR as tokens moving from council-controlled accounts to accounts held by other entities, including the Foundation. Those tokens can sit parked for months, trickling out through grants and incentive programs rather than hitting exchanges in one wave. The distinction matters because the two readings of the same number lead to very different conclusions about price pressure.

What makes the Q3 2026 figure harder to dismiss is the track record behind it. A forecast of roughly 4 billion HBAR for Q2 was followed by an actual movement of just 186 million. The quarter before that, a 3.72 billion HBAR projection translated into 383 million actually released. The same ecosystem-development allocation has been sitting in the forecast column for close to a year without materialising. So either Hedera is deliberately throttling distribution to keep supply tight, or its short-term treasury forecasts are not reliable signals of what will actually move. Neither option makes the numbers easy to ignore.

The video also picks apart a narrative that circulates whenever HBAR rallies. The token climbed from around $0.05 in September 2024 to $0.39 by December, and that move is sometimes pinned on favourable supply conditions. But the cited 3.97 billion HBAR release landed in Q1 2025, after the rally was already over. HBAR then shed roughly 83% of its value, dropping back to about $0.065. Correlation cuts both ways, and the timing here does not flatter the bullish version of the story.
