Four tokens, one window of opportunity. With the second half of 2023 underway, meme coins are pulling fresh attention from retail traders hunting outsized returns in a market that still hasn't fully recovered from 2022's crash.
Hollywood X PEPE ($HXPE) is the newest name on the list. Built around the PEPE the Frog meme but dressed in Hollywood aesthetics, the project claims celebrity backing and an active dev team that actually responds to its community. The presale is still open, which means early buyers get in before any exchange listing premium kicks in.
Dogecoin ($DOGE) started as a joke in December 2013 and never quite stopped being one, yet it sits in the top 10 by market cap a decade later. Elon Musk's repeated public endorsements gave it a cultural footprint no marketing budget could buy. Liquidity is deep, spreads are tight, and a handful of retailers already accept it as payment.
Shiba Inu ($SHIB) launched in 2020 and spent two years trying to outrun the "Dogecoin killer" label. The ShibaSwap DEX and a string of DeFi add-ons have given the token actual infrastructure to point to, rather than just meme momentum. The supply is enormous, so price-per-token looks tiny, but market cap tells a different story.
PEPE Coin ($PEPE) is the purest meme play of the four. No roadmap, no utility promises. Just the frog, the community, and the kind of reflexive hype that sent the token up thousands of percent in a matter of weeks after launch earlier in 2023.
All four sit at completely different stages of the risk curve: $HXPE is still in presale, $PEPE is fresh and volatile, $SHIB has a functioning ecosystem behind it, and $DOGE is practically a crypto institution at this point.
