Fifty-four staff members have been cut this year at the Ethereum Foundation, a move reflecting the turbulent period the organization is navigating. Amid these changes, security researcher pcaversaccio, known as pc, joined the EF board, now bringing the number of members to four.
Pcaversaccio is recognized for his focus on privacy and security within crypto, co-founding SEAL 911, a crypto security response team. His addition to the board comes as the EF balances significant restructuring while continuing to support Ethereum’s ecosystem. The appointment lasts one year and is unpaid.
In parallel, Ethereum Institutional, an independent nonprofit, completed its initial funding round with backing from BitMine, SharpLink, and Ethereum co-founders, signaling ongoing investment despite EF’s internal challenges.
Pc has been a vocal advocate for unconditional privacy. He authored The Ethereum Cypherpunk Manifesto and other writings emphasizing self-sovereignty and censorship resistance, key values for the Ethereum community amid growing industry pressures.
