The Ethereum Foundation has expanded its leadership team by appointing pcaversaccio, a well-known security researcher and longtime contributor, to its board. This move comes as the organization undergoes significant changes in its governance structure and strategic focus.

Pcaversaccio, widely recognized in the Ethereum community as "pc," will serve a one-year voluntary term. He is also a co-founder of SEAL 911, an emergency response initiative dedicated to security within the Ethereum ecosystem. Before joining the board, he contributed to the EF's Silviculture Society, an advisory group preserving the foundation's key principles like censorship resistance, privacy, and open-source development.

Leadership Recalibration Inside the Ethereum Foundation

With pc’s inclusion, the board now counts four members: President Aya Miyaguchi, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, Swiss legal counsel Patrick Storchenegger, and pcaversaccio. The board's role is critical, setting the foundation’s long-term strategy and ensuring its activities align with core values while meeting Swiss legal requirements.

This appointment arrives amid a wider reshuffle within the EF, marked by several prominent researchers and executives stepping away to form new Ethereum-focused projects. The Foundation is pivoting from being the central hub of ecosystem development toward emphasizing long-term stewardship of Ethereum’s core mission.
