Ethereum's price nudged higher over the past day, with buyers stepping in near a key support zone. At the time of writing, ETH trades around $1,882, marking a 1.38% increase compared to 24 hours ago. The daily trading volume stands at $6.87 billion, while Ethereum's market capitalization hits $227.18 billion, accounting for over 10% of the total crypto market.
Price Range Tests and Key Levels
Market expert Sam Mti pointed out that Ethereum has been fluctuating between $1,874 and $1,887 recently. The $1,874 level has shown strong demand, and fresh buy signals suggest that buyers remain active around this price. Ethereum currently holds near $1,884, just shy of the $1,887 resistance level. Should bulls push past this threshold, further gains may be unlocked in the near term.
On the downside, analysts are closely watching the $1,833 to $1,849 range as critical support. A breakdown below these levels could discourage buying interest or trigger fresh entries from bargain hunters.
Adding to the market narrative, blockchain tracker Lookonchain revealed that BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes recently added 645 ETH to his holdings, valued at roughly $1.2 million. Hayes has accumulated a total of 3,915 ETH since mid-July, investing around $7.47 million at an average price near $1,909 per ETH. At current prices, he faces an unrealized loss of about $113,000.
Ethereum’s price action remains significant as it supports thousands of decentralized applications and tokenized assets, making it a bellwether for the broader crypto ecosystem. Institutional interest appears to be growing, with figures like Hayes increasing their stakes despite ongoing market swings.
The weeks ahead will be telling for Ethereum’s trajectory, as it battles to break out from its current trading range or risks lingering in consolidation. Investors will likely keep a close eye on the $1,887 resistance and the nearby support levels to gauge the next move.
