Dogecoin’s trading activity spiked dramatically, with 24-hour spot volume rising more than 123% to reach roughly $219 million. Despite the surge in volume, the meme coin continues to linger near multi-month lows, trading around $0.069 as of the latest data.
Futures activity also remains solid, with volumes hitting approximately $1.5 billion and open interest surpassing $1.1 billion. This level of open interest suggests that leveraged traders are holding significant exposure, even as Dogecoin struggles to mount a strong recovery.
Price Action Still Bears a Bearish Tone
From a technical perspective, the outlook remains unfavorable. DOGE recently failed to break above the 26-day exponential moving average, now near $0.074, and sits noticeably below the 50-day EMA at $0.078 and the 100-day EMA at $0.087. Sellers continue to dominate the medium- and long-term price trends.
The 200-day moving average, currently above $0.10, is slanting downwards, emphasizing the uphill battle bulls face before a sustained reversal can take shape. Momentum indicators reinforce this cautious sentiment; DOGE’s Relative Strength Index hovers near 34 35, edging into oversold territory.
While oversold conditions can sometimes trigger short-term rebounds, they rarely mark long-term bottoms during ongoing downtrends. Interestingly, derivatives market data reveals a different angle: top traders on Binance and OKX show a strong preference for long positions, pushing long-to-short ratios considerably higher.
