Market Stalls Despite Recent Bitcoin Surge

The crypto market is stuck in limbo after Bitcoin recently surpassed the $65,000 resistance level, triggering fresh local highs across several altcoins. Yet, broad recovery remains elusive following a massive liquidation event on October 10, 2025, when over $19 billion vanished from the market in a single day.

Since then, volatility has driven the total market capitalization down by about $85 billion since July 21, signaling that investors are either locking in gains or bracing for more downturns. This pullback came right after the market hit new highs, underscoring profit-taking behavior rather than a full exit.

The Fear and Greed Index reflects this caution with a reading of 35, suggesting that investors are wary of another liquidation but are not yet fully abandoning the market. Capital remains mostly sidelined, despite intermittent quiet accumulation.

Interestingly, the Altcoin Season Index shows signs of renewed bullish interest. Between July 23 and 25, the index climbed from 51 to 53, even as altcoin market capitalization slid from $923.67 billion to $900.46 billion. This divergence hints that some investors are still positioning for gains, keeping the bulls somewhat alive.

Supporting this, the overall crypto market sentiment has dipped from an all-time high of 3.23 on July 22 to 1.78, revealing reduced enthusiasm but sustained bullish undercurrents.

However, a major sticking point remains the stablecoin supply. Over the past 24 hours, stablecoin inflows barely moved, holding near flat. The last week saw a modest $824.5 million inflow, but this is small compared to the outflows experienced over the same period. Without a significant injection above the $1 billion mark, the market’s momentum is unlikely to pick up.

All told, the crypto scene is still digesting the massive losses from the summer while investors cautiously gauge risks before committing fresh capital. The recent stablecoin stagnation and fluctuating sentiment indices suggest the bull run teases but hasn’t fully landed.
