On July 30, Quantum Solutions and Hyperscale Data redirected significant parts of their crypto holdings to finance AI data center projects. Quantum Solutions sold 1,000 Ethereum tokens, raising $1.9 million to expand its AI data center in Japan. Meanwhile, Hyperscale Data liquidated about 100 Bitcoins to back a credit facility supporting construction work in Michigan.

Quantum Solutions’ subsidiary, GPT Pals Studio, sold the 1,000 ETH at $1,903 each, netting $1.9 million after fees but recording a $100,970 accounting loss since the sale price was below the May 31 carrying value of $2,003.97 per ETH. This sale followed a mid-June disposal of 904 ETH for $1.61 million, bringing the total raised from both transactions to around $3.5 million and reducing Quantum’s ETH reserve by nearly 29%, from 6,668.8 to 4,764.8 tokens.

Quantum has also increased its sale authorization ceiling to 4,375 ETH through October 30, allowing it to sell an additional 2,471 ETH if needed, although the company clarified this does not guarantee immediate further sales. Currently, 3,050 of the remaining ETH are pledged as collateral to a Singapore-based financial services provider, while 1,714.8 ETH remain in the trading account.

Hyperscale Data opted for a hybrid approach. Instead of a straightforward crypto sale, it monetized around 100 BTC and set up a Bitcoin-backed credit facility to fund its Michigan AI data center construction, leveraging digital assets for operational capital in a different way.

These moves reflect growing trends of firms converting crypto treasuries into capital for AI infrastructure development, with Quantum’s Tokyo listing highlighting Japan’s expanding role in Ethereum-backed ventures. Earlier this year, Quantum Solutions sold ETH to fund AI projects, underscoring the ongoing strategic pivot toward integrating blockchain assets with AI advancements.
