Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, revealed plans for a major upgrade called Leios that aims to amplify the network's performance by about 60 times. This update is expected to roll out soon and marks a key moment in Cardano's ongoing evolution.
Hoskinson emphasized Cardano’s decentralized governance as a core strength, highlighting how the community independently shapes the platform’s future. Instead of relying on centralized control, Cardano holders collaborate to develop roadmaps, allocate resources, vote, and implement changes. This structure, Hoskinson argues, sets Cardano apart as a self-sustaining ecosystem.
Despite technological improvements since 2024, Hoskinson admitted that Cardano’s market presence and brand had weakened over time. He expressed determination to swiftly address these challenges, including enhancing marketing and adoption efforts, to restore ADA’s prominence. Calling Cardano a “blue chip” crypto project, he assured that its foundation will remain resilient regardless of market swings.
The Leios upgrade is poised to deliver a significant leap in capacity and speed, reshaping what Cardano can achieve technically. This move could influence how developers and users engage with the network over the coming years as Cardano prepares to reassert itself in a competitive landscape.
