On July 30, 2026, Jure Karamarko, founder of SongMarketCap, laid out a bold plan for Cardano’s ADA to surge beyond the $5 mark.

He called on Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson to register immediately as a Delegate Representative within Cardano’s decentralized governance system. Alongside this, Karamarko suggested that a large player such as a major company, venture capital firm, or influential investor buy 1 billion ADA tokens at current prices and also become a registered DRep.

Karamarko emphasized the need for seasoned business leaders to take a more active role in Cardano's governance. He argued that experienced executives, skilled in building and scaling companies, would bring the leadership and fresh capital necessary for the network’s growth. At the same time, he criticized some current DReps for lacking real-world business experience, which he believes undermines the network’s potential.

According to Karamarko, "The moment experienced business leaders begin shaping Cardano’s future will be the moment we start moving beyond $5." This proposal aligns with Cardano’s ongoing governance evolution under the Voltaire phase, where ADA holders increasingly influence ecosystem decisions by delegating voting power to DReps.

Hoskinson himself has announced plans to register as a DRep by forming a political party within Cardano’s community. He recently appealed to the community to back this initiative, promising to tackle growing cynicism and negativity if he secures enough support.

The suggestion has sparked division among Cardano’s supporters. Proponents see institutional involvement as a way to strengthen governance and attract significant venture capital funding, an area where Cardano has traditionally lagged behind competitors.
