Cardano's price jumped 11% in the past week, breaking a brutal streak that saw ADA tumble 44.63% since the year began. The move signals something shifted in how traders view the asset, yet the rebound comes on modest volume that raises questions about whether the bounce has real legs.
The mechanics underneath tell a clearer story. After an extended deleveraging event that flushed out overleveraged positions through late 2025 and into early this year, ADA has entered what analysts call an accumulation phase. The Alpha use pressure metric, which measures whether markets are trading overheated or underheated, now sits firmly in buying territory. That's the first green light in months.
What makes this moment different from previous bounces is the capital restraint. Over the last 24 hours, liquidations hit roughly $1.69 million for an asset with a $6.71 billion market cap. That's considered low. Short liquidations accounted for about $1.2 million of the total, meaning sellers aren't getting crushed out of their positions at scale. Traders are being cautious, not euphoric.
Inflows stay measured
The derivatives market tells the same measured story. Capital flowing into ADA futures and options over the past seven days totaled roughly $1 billion against $973 million leaving, producing a net inflow of just $29.22 million. That gap is small enough to suggest a sustainable trend, one driven neither by excessive buy nor sell pressure. Both sides are dipping their toes in rather than diving.
The liquidation heatmap shows dense clusters of unfilled orders sitting well above the current price, implying buyers have set their sights on higher targets. If that reading holds, the path from current levels toward $0.28 and beyond remains open. Yet the modest capital flows mean any move upward will need to prove itself on actual buying, not just positioning adjustments from traders who've already bailed out.
