On July 23, Boardwalk flipped its BMX-to-BWLK migration module live, right on the schedule the project had telegraphed eight days earlier.
The tool sits on Boardwalk's website and lets BMX holders on Base convert their tokens into staked BWLK on Ethereum at a straight 1:1 rate. No conversion discount, no guesswork on price.
Boardwalk first flagged the migration on July 15, confirmed the timeline on July 20, and shipped the module on July 23. Three milestones, all hit.
The window stays open for roughly six months, giving holders time to move without rushing. Received BWLK arrives already staked, so migrated tokens go straight into the protocol's staking mechanism. Anyone with a long position should check lock-up terms before committing.
BWLK rolls out across Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, and Robinhood, with native liquidity incentives attached to each venue. The Robinhood listing stands out: it puts BWLK in front of retail users who may never touch a DEX or a bridge, a crowd well outside the usual DeFi orbit.
The supply picture is tight. BWLK launched via a Uniswap Continuous Clearing Auction with a planned supply of 3,150,000 tokens. Boardwalk then burned 160,222, cutting the live total to 2,989,778, roughly 5% gone before the migration even opened. Thin supply on a low-float token can produce sharp moves in either direction, and that math cuts both ways.
The project has been posting official migration links through Discord to help users sidestep scam contracts that copy the look of legitimate migration tools. A reminder worth heeding: always verify the contract address through official channels before signing anything. Similar caution applies across DeFi generally, as a recent $24M bridge hack at AFX Trade made painfully clear.
Boardwalk describes its broader focus as maintaining a "balanced supply" while keeping token holders involved in governance through public snapshot reviews and staked token distributions.
