BitSafe rolled out its Decentralization Manager in public beta, aiming to simplify building decentralized finance applications on the Canton Network. This open-source framework came alive thanks to a $1 million grant from the Canton Foundation Development Fund, totaling 8.5 million $CC tokens.

Before this launch, developers on Canton had to create governance, custody, and audit tools from zero to meet institutional standards requiring distributed control and rigorous audit trails. Decentralization Manager changes that by offering reusable infrastructure to spread control across multiple independent operators, reducing risks and easing development.

Features Driving Institutional Adoption

Quantstamp has audited Decentralization Manager, certifying its security and readiness for institutional-grade projects. The framework currently supports token issuance and multi-signature custody with shared control, catering to wrapped crypto, stablecoins, and tokenized real-world assets. It also paves the way for decentralized exchanges, lending platforms, and other structured financial products on Canton.

A key early success is CBTC, Canton’s first non-native asset, which has processed over 10 million transactions. Node operators running CBTC now share in Canton transaction fees, a model Decentralization Manager extends across the network. This encourages collaboration between application developers and high-quality node operators, fueling the network’s growth and operational security.
