Bitmine Immersion Technologies recently expanded its Ethereum holdings by acquiring 9,946 ETH, pushing its total treasury to approximately 5.79 million ETH. This figure represents about 4.8% of Ethereum's circulating supply, which currently stands at 120.7 million tokens. Alongside its crypto assets, Bitmine's portfolio, including cash and marketable securities, is valued at $11.8 billion.
Ethereum Staking Forms Core of Bitmine’s Strategy
The company disclosed that roughly 85% of its Ethereum stash, amounting to 4.9 million ETH, is staked through MAVAN, Bitmine’s institutional-grade Ethereum staking platform launched earlier this year. Initially designed to support Bitmine’s own treasury, MAVAN aims to broaden its services to other institutional investors and partners within the crypto ecosystem.
Staking is a significant part of Bitmine’s approach, with an annualized staking yield recently reported at 2.65%, translating to projected yearly rewards of around $299 million at scale. Currently, the company estimates $254 million in annualized staking revenue. This strategy highlights the growing trend of viewing Ethereum not just as a speculative asset, but as a productive digital infrastructure capable of generating consistent income.
Market Sentiment and Treasury Expansion
Bitmine’s chairman, Thomas Lee, attributed the steady increase in Ethereum holdings to improved market conditions. Since launching the ETH Treasury Strategy on June 30, 2025, Bitmine has maintained weekly ETH purchases. Alongside accumulating ETH, Bitmine repurchased 6.1 million shares last week, totaling 11.6 million shares bought back under its $4 billion authorization since July 1.
Despite regulatory uncertainties like the proposed Clarity Act, Bitmine noted a rising ETH/BTC ratio indicating strengthening Ethereum market dynamics. Lee pointed out that ETH prices have touched a 10-week high and identified key resistance levels at $2,000 and $2,500 based on technical analysis by Tom DeMark of DeMark Analytics, underscoring cautious optimism in the near term.
